Life is a dream, shifting, changing and flickering,
There is one moment to which to hold fast -
Instance of dying, yet also of quickening,
Moment of truth between future and past.

Rest everlasting, unmoving and permanent
Buries all joy, smothers beauty and youth -
But for a star shooting down from the firmament
Bright blinding flash is the moment of truth.

Fast-changing world travels on through the centuries,
If we part ways, it is hardly a crime.
Trust me, I know what my stake in this venture is -
Moment in time, just a moment in time.

Whether my life turns delightful or sickening,
There is one moment to which I'll hold fast:
Instance of dying, yet also of quickening,
Moment of truth between future and past.
